Committed to supporting Iowa dentists and the work they do, Professional Solutions Insurance Company is proud to financially support the Des Moines Health Center, a United Way agency, by funding a second Smile Squad Mobile Dental Clinic. This mobile dental clinic travels to 30 schools in Dallas and Polk counties, and provides onsite dental services to approximately 700 of the 1,200 school-aged children who are referred each year. With the addition of a second mobile dental clinic, the Smile Squad dental volunteers will be able to visit and provide dental care to a greater number of Iowa children.

Since 1987 the Des Moines Health Center has conducted a school-based oral health prevention program that refers children to area providers for treatment. Providing onsite dental care is the best way to ensure that these children receive the needed care.

The Smile Squad is a mobile dental clinic van program providing onsite dental services at area schools and selected sites using a custom built RV equipped with two state-of-the-art exam/treatment rooms, digital x-ray, lab/sterilization room and a wheelchair lift. Schools with the highest enrollment of children in the free/reduced lunch program are given priority for services.
