Where Your Dollars Go

Supporting Our Neighborhood Communities

Summer Breeze - Battle of the ‘Burbs promises to be a fun day for runners, spectators and volunteers. It’s also a great way to give back to our neighborhood nonprofits and support our communities.

Sponsorship dollars, along with 100% of registration fees for the event go to the Foundations listed below. Won’t you consider being a sponsor and support the foundations, the non-profits they support and community betterment efforts?

Clive Community Foundation

The Clive Community Foundation provides grants to nonprofits in Clive and neighboring communities focused on improving quality of life, health and wellness, and community collaboration. In 2017, nearly $41,000 in grants were provided to organizations including Clive Community Services, United Way of Central Iowa, Opportunity on Deck, Character Counts, Furry Friends Refuge and Iowa Heart Foundation as well as several others.

Waukee Betterment Foundation

The Waukee Betterment Foundation provides support to agencies and projects that help preserve and grow a healthy community. Areas of focus include parks and recreation, social services, healthy living, trails and public art. They are currently raising funds for an all-inclusive activity center for children with disabilities. This will include a baseball field, play area and fishing pier. Construction on this $2.5 million project is scheduled to begin in 2021.

West Des Moines Community Foundation

The West Des Moines Community Foundation’s goal is to make a positive impact in the community by supporting artistic, cultural, recreational, historic, social and natural resources. They provide grants that support a variety of initiatives such as: Booster Pak Program, Historical Society’s Jordan Scholar program, WDM Human Services’ transitional housing and holiday meals, Children & Families of Iowa programs, and WDM Public Arts exhibitions.
